The 2011 SHCI is a seven day program for students from all over colorado to explore various medical and health professions as well as the opportunity to tour health care facilities; discuss career options with professors and health practitioners; and shadow a health professional.

Aurora LIGHTS program includes two special Academies: Saturday Academy is special 10 week program for 9th Graders hosted at the Anschutz Medical Campus, see calendar for dates . 30 students selected from Wm Smith, Aurora Central and Hinkley High Schools.
Aurora LIGHTS Summer Institute 2009 hosted 40 High School Students. This 6 week program included 4 weeks of on-campus academic program and 2 week residential program with 6 days of job shadow/internships, multiple Health Care tours and interactions with Health Care Professionals and students in the pipeline. Health Care Career Readiness Sphere
Health Care Career Readiness Sphere is used by individual clients interested in exploring their “match” and strengths that would serve them best in a health care career and role.

Individuals first learn about their strengths and their growth areas through this online tool. There is also an online review program for them to identify actions that they can take to prepare themselves for the education plan and development of 21st Century workplace skills.
The Colorado Dept. of Labor and Employment in collaboration with Central CO AHEC and Phil Lawson, LLC have established this tool to guide potential health care education program candidates, workforce center clients, staff and instructors. Plan for the 2010 CO AHEC Summer Health Careers Institute
This six-day program accepts students from all over the state who will come together to explore various medical health professions as well as have the opportunity to tour health care facilities; discuss career options with professors and health practitioners; and shadow a health professional during the trip to the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus "job shadow day" in Aurora.
