What if I only have one year left in My Program, do I still have to work 2 years in a rural setting?

Yes, you would recieve funding for the year you have left, and would still be required to work in a rural/ underserved community in Colorado for 2 years.

 

What is the writing prompt for the essay?

Please write a one page essay (1000 words or less) that describes your experiences in a rural and/or urban underserved community or why you would want to serve in the rural setting. The essay should include a description of your future plans for practice and be as specific as possible. Please include relevant volunteering experiences. Prefered file upload format is .pdf. Can I use the money to pay for school I have already taken?

Our Scholarship funds cannot be applie to academic years that you have already taken.

 

What if I recieved the Colorado Trust Scholarship?

You can still apply, it will not hurt or help your chance to get a new scholarship.

 

What if I am getting my Bachelors, can I recieve funding?

Only graduate level or higher programs will be accepted. The scholarship program will be around until 2016 so check back once you are done with your bachelors degree on how to apply.

 

Is the scholarship needs based?

No, The scholarship will be awarded to the students who demonstrate commitment to rural health care in their essay.

 

What if I can't get a job after school?

There is not a hard deadline when you have to have a job after school, but the important thing will be to remain in communication about your status and where you have applied.

 

Do I have to find a job or is one given to me?

You have to find your own job in a rural/underserved community. If you are having trouble we will do our best to help
